THE FOUNDER

Meet Hannah, founder and creative director

"My path to weddings has never been linear. It has been layered, creative and deeply intentional.

I began as a graphic designer, where I developed a disciplined eye for composition, detail and visual harmony. Design taught me how to see: balance, negative space, texture and tone. It taught me to think conceptually and finish precisely, and that foundation still sits beneath everything I create.

From there, I founded and ran my own fashion brands, which took me around the world. Building brands from nothing meant leading teams, directing creative vision, producing campaigns and hosting events. Fashion gave me a deep understanding of luxury: craftsmanship, storytelling, exclusivity, and the difference that one detail can make.

Before any of that, I trained at Italia Conti. Theatre shaped my understanding of emotion, timing and atmosphere. It taught me how moments build, how energy shifts in a room, and how to hold an audience. Most of all, it gave me an instinct for experience: not just how something looks, but how it feels.

I have also created, launched and run a wedding venue, so I know weddings from the other side of the door too. I know what a kitchen needs late at night, how a marquee site behaves in the rain, and how long it really takes to turn a room between dinner and dancing.

Over time, I realised that weddings sit at the intersection of everything I have ever loved and built. They ask for design, logistics, discretion and trust. They are immersive, emotional and deeply personal. They bring together hospitality, aesthetics, performance and storytelling in a single extraordinary day. That is the work I want to do, and it is why I founded Pearl Events Atelier."

HOW WE PLAN

For us, thoughtful design goes hand in hand with thoughtful planning. A strong creative concept gives a wedding its identity, but it is the planning behind it that lets everything come together. Finding the right venue and makers, shaping the aesthetic, managing budgets, logistics and timings: every decision has a part to play. We work commission free, so every supplier we recommend is there because they are right for you, never because they pay us.

Guest experience is part of the thinking from the very beginning. It might be the flow of a room, the way one part of the celebration leads into the next, or a playful detail nobody saw coming. We love the balance between considered design and a little unpredictability: celebrations that feel beautifully put together, but never overly orchestrated. There should always be room for spontaneity, connection and a good deal of fun.

Behind the scenes, we bring structure, clarity and a steady hand. Our couples tend to lead busy lives, travel often and are used to being well advised, so we keep things simple for them: one point of contact, clear written updates, and decisions presented as a few considered options with our recommendation. You get to enjoy the process. We take care of the rest.

HOW WE WORK

Eight weddings a year, led by Hannah

We take on eight weddings a year, alongside a small number of private celebrations. It is a deliberate choice. It means Hannah leads every wedding personally, from the first conversation to the last guest leaving, and each one receives the time, thought and imagination it deserves.

Collaboration sits at the centre of our process. We bring ideas, perspective and creative direction; you bring your stories, instincts and personalities. The most exciting work happens where those meet. Sometimes that means a bold creative statement; sometimes it is a quieter detail that brings the whole picture together. Either way, the aim is never to recreate something seen before. It is to create a wedding that feels right for the people, the place and the occasion.

Discretion comes as standard. Many of our couples prefer their weddings unpublished, and nothing about your wedding is shared without your permission.

INFLUENCES

A few things that keep us curious

"My love of theatre, architecture, music, literature, travel, fine wine, exceptional food, antiques and beautiful craftsmanship constantly shapes the way I design. A historic European hotel, a perfectly restored vintage car, an intimate candlelit dinner in a hidden restaurant: any of them can become the starting point for an idea."

Inspiration rarely arrives in a neat package, and the references that sit outside the world of weddings often lead somewhere more interesting. That curiosity is what keeps every Pearl Events Atelier wedding different from the last.

WHERE WE WORK

A luxury wedding planner for London, the Cotswolds, Sussex and beyond.

The studio is based in Sussex, and we plan weddings across England and abroad. In the Cotswolds, that often means exclusive use country houses and marquees on private estates. In Sussex, it means estates, vineyards and walled gardens between the Downs and the coast. In London, it means hotels, private members' clubs and historic buildings. And for couples marrying further afield, it means planning across time zones with trusted local partners.
